Run Hermes Agent as a Telegram assistant
Hermes Agent is the open-source agent from Nous Research. Install it from the official docs, connect a model you pay for, and use the documented gateway so you can message it from Telegram. You still approve what it does on your machine.
Accounts, setup, or code you should read before you trust it.
What you should have at the end
A private bot you can message, on a computer you control.

How to do it
- 01
Install from the official page
Use the desktop installer, or the Linux and macOS install command published in the docs. Read the script before you run it.
- 02
Run hermes setup
Pick a provider and a model. The docs require a model with at least a 64K context window.
- 03
Connect Telegram with the gateway
Run hermes gateway setup and choose Telegram. Create the bot through Telegram's own BotFather, then paste only the token the setup asks for.
- 04
Test with a harmless note
Ask it to summarize a file in a folder you choose. Read the reply before you let it send anything onward.
